During a webinar on Feb 5, Wyoming Department of Transportation officials will present a proposal to the U.S. Department of Transportation for their plan to use connected vehicle technology along the I-80 corridor.
Wyoming is one of three sites chosen by the U.S. DOT for pilot projects to deploy connected vehicle technology. WYDOT’s proposal focuses on improving safety and freight mobility along I-80, with the intent to develop a program than can be applied in other rural states.
The webinar will show how WYDOT plans to use the technology to improve communication of road condition reports through in-vehicle advisories to support speed management, detours, parking, and the presence of maintenance and emergency vehicles.
