Two new businesses have opened in Rock Springs in less than a week.

A restaurant unlike any other in Rock Springs opened late last week and a laser tag business opened over the weekend.

Sapporo Japanese Steakhouse, located at 2461 Foothill Boulevard—right in front of White Mountain Mall—opened on Thursday, May 26.

Restaurant owner Jack Lu says the restaurant has been very successful so far with many people stopping to try the new establishment.

Sapporo Japanese Steakhouse is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.

The restaurant is different than anything else seen in Rock Springs because it has a hibachi grill where food is cooked right in front of customers. Not only can people see their food being cooked, they can enjoy a show put on by their chef. Regular tables without the hibachi are also available.

“Wyoming people deserve to have something good, and something new here,” said Lu.

Lu said he decided to open the restaurant after doing research and learning that Wyoming had no other restaurants like his. After visiting Wyoming, Lu said people were so nice that he felt very comfortable opening a business in the state.

Sapporo restaurants are also open in Gillette and Douglas.

Legendary Laser Tag is located inside the White Mountain Mall at 2441 Foothill Boulevard in Rock Springs. The new business is located next to Samuel’s Jewelry near Herberger’s.

Owner Elisha Bracho says the new establishment opened on Saturday, May 28. She said Saturday was a very busy day for the business with many people coming to enjoy the new activity.

Laser tag is priced at $10 for 20 minutes worth of play. The facility can accommodate large groups—up to 20 people—and will work with small groups too. Bracho said if a group of two people come in, they even have the option to play with staff so there are more people playing laser tag.

The room is complete with areas to run, dive, and dodge. Black lights illuminate the way for laser taggers and music fills the air.

Legendary Laser Tag is open Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays 12 p.m. – 7 p.m., and Sundays 12 p.m.-6 p.m.

The business is also equipped to host parties with the party room fitting up to 30 people.

Legendary Laser Tag can be reached by telephone at 307-448-0925.
