ROCK SPRINGS — Two people were arrested Tuesday after a drug sting and police chase through Rock Springs.
Miranda Faith Lida Miller, 28 of Cheyenne, and Daniel Markus McBride, 30 of Colorado Springs, Colo., were arrested for multiple charges, according to a press release from the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Arrest Group (SNAAG), agents from Wyoming’s Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), and detectives from Rock Springs Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, conducted an undercover drug enforcement operation on Tuesday.
When detectives attempted to stop Miller and McBride during the operation, the two led police on a chase through Rock Springs. The vehicle reportedly reached speeds over 65 mph.
After allegedly colliding with a parked vehicle and stalling their own vehicle in the snow, the two attempted to run from the scene. They were taken into custody without further incident.
No injuries were reported.
Undisclosed amounts of methamphetamine and cash were seized.
According to the release, Miller is charged with delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine), interference with a peace officer, fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving and hit and run.
McBride is charged with delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and interference with a peace officer.
Sweetwater County Circuit Court Judge John Prokos set bond for Miller on Wednesday at $30,000 cash or surety and for McBride at $35,000 cash or surety. Miller and McBride remain in custody at Sweetwater County Detention Center as of press time.
Sheriff Lowell credits a cooperative effort by Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, Rock Springs Police Department and Wyoming’s Division of Criminal Investigation in effecting these arrests, expressed his thanks for the community’s continued support and reminds citizens all persons are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
