Sweetwater One Open Exhibition at Library

The Sweetwater Photography One Open Exhibition shows the work of five local artists and will be on display through the end of February. According to a release from Sweetwater County Libraries, nature photos dominate this year’s exhibition, which features everything from animals and Wyoming landscapes to the Boston skyline. Artists were asked to submit entries into the show.

Artwork and artists featured include:

  • Mark Horn with photos “Simpson’s Hallow,” and “Church Butte”;
  • Richard Gilmore with photos the “Blue Birds in Flight,” and “Bambi”;
  • Micki Gilmore with the photos “New Generation,” “Velvet,” and “Goose Reflection”;
  • Marni Christensen with two photos “Boston at Night,” and “Hobbs Lake”;
  • David Von Metz with the photos “Fallen,” and “Santa Fe National Cemetery”

The exhibition can be views at Sweetwater County Library, 300 N. 1st East in Green River, to see the exhibit during the library’s regular hours. The library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Sweetwater County Library System encourages local and Wyoming artists to display their creative work at the White Mountain Library in Rock Springs and the Sweetwater County Library in Green River.  A committee of library staff and community volunteers meet to review applications of interested artists and to schedule community shows. Interested individuals are encouraged to pick up an application packet at any of the libraries or contact Debora Soule at the Community Fine Arts Center.
