Rock Springs Student To Speak At UW School of Nursing Commencement

A student from Rock Springs has been selected as one of the student keynote speakers at a University of Wyoming spring commencement ceremony.300x250_Infinity

Kali Howe was selected as a student speaker for the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing Convocation. The ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the College of Arts and Sciences Auditorium at UW.

Howe is was selected as an outstanding graduating student for the honor. She is a Bachelors of Science in Nursing candidate and president of the Student Nursing Association.

The main commencement ceremony at UW will take place Saturday, May 14; and the UW-Casper ceremony is scheduled Thursday, May 12. Other graduation celebrations at UW include African American and Diaspora Studies research symposium and graduation Thursday, May 5; and Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing Convocation and Multicultural graduation ceremony Friday, May 13.

The key student speakers are:

  • UW-Casper College — Kristen Trumbull, Casper.
  • College of Business — Holly Burnham, Fort Collins, Colo.; Landon Shimpa, Fort Collins, Colo.; and Muna Oweidat, Amman, Jordan.
  • African American and Diaspora Studies — Raena Bush, Beulah; Derrick Martin, Laramie; and Jamie Smith, Gillette.
  • Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing — Kali Howe, Rock Springs.
  • Multicultural — Raleah Cisneros, Gillette.
