Owner Cited In Dog Bite Incident, Dog Identified

Green River Animal Control Officers responded to the report on Tuesday shortly after 7 p.m. It was reported that a 12-year-old boy was bitten by a dog on the Greenbelt Pathway behind Harrison School.

The Green River Police Department issued a release on Wednesday seeking information on the dog owner.

The owner of the dog, identified as 36-year-old Kolene Anderson, of Green River, saw a post on social media regarding the incident and contacted the GRPD.

Anderson was cooperative during the investigation on provided paperwork verifying that the dog is up-to-date on its rabies vaccination.

Anderson was cited for vicious animal and given warnings for animal at large and city license required.

In a release, the Green River Police Department thanked the public for assistance and reminds citizens that according to Green River City Ordinance 6-5(a) any animal which bites a person shall be reported to the animal control officer or the police department.
