No one was injured after a 16-year-old driver allegedly rear-ended a school bus this afternoon.
According to the Rock Springs Police Department, no children were on the bus at the time of the accident.
Allison Deters, Public Information Officer with the Rock Springs Police Department, said the Sweetwater County School District # 1 bus was traveling north on Elk Street (A Street) over the A Street Bridge shortly before 3:30 p.m. when it began to turn left onto Grant Street.
During the turn, a White Chevy Cobalt driven by a sixteen-year-old girl collided with the rear of the bus. Deters said slick roads contributed to the crash.
The sixteen-year-old driver was ticketed for Following Too Close with a Crash. Because the driver is a minor, the Rock Springs Police Department is not releasing her name.
No injuries were reported as a result of this crash.
