A Montana woman died in a car crash north of Worland late last week.
According to Wyoming Highway Patrol, 38-year-old Donna Rollins, of Butte, Montana, died in a crash on Thursday that occurred at about 5:55 p.m. on U.S. Highway 20, approximately two miles north of Worland.
Donna Rollins was a passenger in a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer SUV driven by 61-year-old Elizabeth Rollins, of Deer Lodge, Montana. The vehicle was traveling south on U.S. 20 when the SUV went onto the shoulder, was overcorrected, and rolled multiple times.
Donna Rollins was wearing her seatbelt, but still sustained fatal injuries on scene.
Elizabeth Rollins was wearing her seatbelt as were Worland residents Dale Rollins, 41, and Molly Hixon, 56. A four-year-old child who was also in the Blazer was properly restrained in a child seat. They were all transported by ground ambulance to Washakie Medical Center. There conditions were not known at the time of the WHP release.
Driver fatigue along with a possible medical condition prior to the crash are being investigated as contributing factors.
No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
This marked the 38th highway fatality in Wyoming this year, compared to 64 during the same time period last year.
