GREEN RIVER—Wildlife managers with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department are asking for the public’s help in developing the 2016 hunting seasons.
Green River Wildlife Management Coordinator Mark Zornes says there are two public meetings scheduled in southwest Wyoming
“We invite anyone interested in hunting and wildlife management to attend one of the meetings in preparation for the 2016 season-setting process,” Zornes said in a press release. “We continue to hold these information gathering meetings earlier in the annual hunting season setting cycle, followed by the final public meetings in March and April. We have committed to gathering public input prior to season development to provide a more meaningful and timely dialog with the public, well in advance of drafting 2016 seasons. We like to meet with the public following hunting seasons while hunter’s experiences are fresh on their mind.”
In addition to a recap of the 2015 hunting seasons, updates will be given on local big game herds, specifically the South Rock Springs deer and elk herds.
“We will also be presenting information and updates pertaining to the Wyoming Range Mule Deer Herd at the meetings,” Mountain View Wildlife Biologist Jeff Short said. “University of Wyoming researcher Samantha Page Dwinnell will be presenting her Wyoming Range mule deer herd research findings. So, if you have been involved the past several years with public meetings and planning sessions you will want to be present to hear what progress has been made to this important mule deer herd.”

Monday, January 11, Kemmerer, South Lincoln Training and Events Center, 7:00 PM
Tuesday, January 12, Green River, Game and Fish Office, 7:00 PM
