Timothy L. Dow, age 24, was wanted for conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (methamphetamine), according to a release from the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office.

Dow was one of 35 people indicted in August of 2015 by the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation and the Southwest Enforcement Team after a year-long drug investigation in Green River.

A substantial number of those indicted were immediately arrested, but authorities were unable to apprehend Dow at the time. He was believed to have fled the state to avoid capture.

In October of 2015, Dow was added to Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted list. Detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Arrest Group (SNAAG) tracked Dow to North Dakota, but were unable to coordinate efforts with local authorities to successfully effect Dow’s arrest.

In February of this year, SNAAG detectives developed information and tracked Dow to Shafter, California. They then learned earlier this month that Dow was likely planning a visit back to Wyoming.

On Tuesday, Dow was spotted at a residence in Green River during surveillance operations, where he was taken into custody without incident.

As of press time, Dow remains in custody at Sweetwater County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash or surety bond.

In Wyoming, conspiracy to unlawfully deliver a controlled substance carries a maximum possible penalty of imprisonment for not more than 25 years, a $25,000 fine, or both.

Sheriff Lowell credits tips from the public and a cooperative effort by Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office and Wyoming’s Division of Criminal Investigation for Dow’s capture, and thanks the community for its continued support.
