A Cheyenne resident died in a motorcycle crash near Manville, Wyo. last week, according to Wyoming Highway Patrol.
James Barth, 37, died in a crash that occurred at about 1 p.m. Thursday on Wyoming State Highway 270, approximately six miles south of Manville.
Barth was traveling north on a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and failed to negotiate a left hand curve. The motorcycle left the highway and struck a delineator post, throwing him off the motorcycle and down a steep embankment.
Barth was not wearing a helmet and sustained fatal injuries on scene.
WHP says operator inexperience and inattentiveness are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash.
This marked the 39th highway fatality in Wyoming in 2016. There were 64 fatalities during the same time period in 2015.
