LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The University of Wyoming women’s basketball team lost to the UNLV Lady Rebels on Saturday 66-37. The Cowgirls scored a season-low 37 points in Las Vegas.
“It was a combination of things that happened to begin this game. UNLV played very well, made shots and their confidence was very high,” UW head coach Joe Legerski said in a press release from UW athletics. “We turned the ball over, couldn’t get any easy shots and we were down 11-2. We were concerned with this happening and with a young team sometimes they don’t see it happening. The aggressor takes over and UNLV did a good job with that tonight. We battled back in the third quarter and relaxed a little bit but it didn’t come easy. We were 0-of-21 from three and it was across the board. You won’t beat anyone whether it’s on the road or home with those types of numbers.”
Wyoming returns home Wednesday hosting the San Jose State Spartans. The game time is set for 7 p.m. MT at the Arena-Auditorium.
