County Attorney Daniel Erramouspe has responded to a letter recently sent to the Sweetwater County Board of Commissioners about an ongoing disagreement between the the Board of County Commissioners and the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County Board of Trustees.
The letter sent to the hospital board’s attorney, George Lemich, is a direct response to a letter sent to Erramouspe outlining the hospital board’s legal position in relation to the County Commissioner’s demands.
Erramouspe had previously sent a letter to the Board of Trustees with his legal opinion on what state statutes require of the hospital board in reference to approval of operating contracts, approval of governing body, reporting to the Board of County Commissioners, and public meetings.
In the latest letter to Lemich, Erramouspe directly responds to claims by Lemich that the County Commissioners have failed to meet their statutorily mandated financial obligation. Additionally, Erramouspe addresses specific statutes that he claims Lemich has misinterpreted.
Below is a copy of the letter sent by Erramouspe as well as previous correspondence between the two boards.
