About Steven Davis

From a release from Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency:

Steven Davis was born and raised in Green River, Wyoming but always had his eyes on the horizon.

Music became a very special and important part of his life at 13 when his mom could finally afford his first 6 string. Only a year had gone by and already he was writing his own songs and making leaps and bounds with the guitar. After some small town heartbreak, Steven was thirsty for adventure.

When Steven was 19 years old he left town with a group of transients and soon found himself riding a freight train out of Sacramento.  For Steven this was life-changing; feeling the freedom of the rails was bliss.

During his freight-train adventure, Steven ran into film maker and photographer Debra Kellner, who was doing a story on the American subculture. Debra was from Paris, France and soon after meeting her, Steven took her across the country via railway.  A huge story followed in a very distinguished Paris magazine. Paris’

Match magazine wanted Steven there for the release of the article and he soon found himself traveling Europe.

After some time in Europe, Steven returned to the States, continuing to ramble and travel until he found himself in the oil fields of North Dakota. He worked there for two years, spending his earnings seeing the world. He also made music for several commercials, realizing that music has endless applications in the professional world.

Eventually the woes of an oil boom town started to weigh heavily on Steven’s heart. He left North Dakota and returned home here, to the Rock Springs and Green River area. It is here that he found the love of his life, Jessica Thompson; he finds it ironic that after traveling the whole world he found true love back home.

Every song Steven has written has a story, an original background and has been written through his life experience; he has been a traveler, roofer, rancher, oil field hand, a hobo, and much more. But through all of this, the music has been a constant passion of Stevens. Steven’s priority now is finishing college.

Steven recently auditioned for “America’s Got Talent” and the producer wants him on the show; he’s awaiting their call.  The show airs in the summer of 2016 so he’s  hoping to win the hearts of the world through his winding story of life, love, stress, setbacks, and come ups…Expressed through music.
