The Sweetwater County Concert Association’s 20th Annual Bite Night fundraiser is Feb. 20 from 6-9 p.m. at the Rock Springs Holiday Inn Ballroom.
Tickets are $30 each and are available at the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Green River Chamber of Commerce.
The event features 30 local food vendors, each offering a sampling of their tasty treats. In addition, multiple wine/spirits vendors and two beer vendors will be on location to provide beverages.
Tina Price, Concert Association President, says Bite Night was originally inspired by an outdoor event in Seattle called ‘Bites of Seattle.’ After some board members heard about that event, they began brainstorming how to make a similar event work for Sweetwater County, and Bite Night was born.
In addition to the many samplings, a silent auction will feature locally donated items. The silent auction features things like quilts, wood works, glass works, pottery, ceramics, gift baskets and more.
In addition, items will be raffled off at the event—including a Brinkmann 5-burner grill.
The first 200 people who attend Bite Night will even receive a commemorative glass for the event’s 20th anniversary.
Price says the popular fundraiser helps the concert association to continue bringing four to five professional concerts to Sweetwater County each year. Concerts are held in Green River and Rock Springs. Bite Night helps the Concert Association to keep their concert prices low.
The next concert hosted by the Sweetwater County Concert Association will feature Main Street Souvenirs on March 5, 2016 at the Rock Springs High School.
