Take a journey back in time this summer by attending the Sweetwater County Library’s Medieval Faire.
The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 16 at Expedition Island in Green River. The fair runs through 2 p.m. The Medieval Faire is sponsored by the Sweetwater County Library Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a foundation of lifelong learning.
The library staff will transform the island into a bustling medieval marketplace, complete with medieval crafts, activities, food and vendors selling their wares.
This will be the fourth time that the library has hosted a Medieval Faire. Some of the activities at the Medieval Faire include storytelling; demonstrations; crafts for kids; face painting; a caricaturist; and games.
The Medieval Faire wouldn’t be complete without costumes.
“The library staff and volunteers will be dressed in costume for the occasion,” said Reference Specialist Bianca Jorgensen. Those attending the Medieval Faire are also encouraged to wear costumes to the event.
“It’s a good excuse to break out your best Renaissance era clothing,” Jorgensen added.
The Medieval Faire is a free event with activities for the whole family.
