The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two Rock Springs men who have been missing since Sunday.
According to a release from the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, the department is searching for Allen James Hendrickson, 28, and Sean T. Jereb, 27.
The search is in the area generally southwest of Wamsutter.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dick Blust said it was reported to the Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning that the two went rabbit hunting on Sunday, but had not been heard from since. As of about 4:30 PM today, search efforts are focused on the area of the last coordinates obtained for one of the pair’s cellular telephone.
Involved in the search are sheriff’s deputies, volunteers from Sweetwater Search & Rescue, and the Civil Air Patrol.
Authorities are asking that people not search for Hendrickson and Jereb on their own.
“Weather conditions in the area are not good,” said Blust. “If others become lost or disabled, even with the best of intentions, they put themselves at risk.”
Blust said Hendrickson and Jereb are reported to be in a grey 2007 Ford Focus.
