Green River Police Department wants to thank everyone for their assistance in getting the information out in helping identify the individual.
UPDATE 11:30 am: According to the GRPD, on December 3, 2015 at about 7:00 am an employee of Green River High School reported seeing an individual walking through the parking lot carrying what they thought was a rifle slung over their shoulder with a dog.
The School Resource Officer and School Staff viewed video footage and observed a white male walk from the west towards the south side of the building, with possibly an Airedale Terrier and an object was slung over their shoulder. Extra Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the individual.
As a precautionary measure, all schools with the exception of Washington Elementary went into lockout at about 08:00 a.m., in which the buildings are secured and access is restricted. Students otherwise go through a day to day routine. This is different from a lock down, in which interior rooms and doors such as classrooms and offices are secured.
As of about 9:40 a.m. the lock out was lifted.
Officers are working to identify this individual. If you have any information please contact Green River Police Department at 307-872-0555 or School Resource Officer Ken Yager.

EARLIER TODAY: According to the GRPD, there has been a report earlier this morning of a suspicious individual around the Green River High School. At this time the school is on lock out, which means classes will continue but no one is allowed to enter the building. In the meantime authorities are reviewing surveillance video. We will keep you updated.
