An 18-ear-old woman from Evanston died in a car crash over the weekend.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Christine Finney died from injuries sustained in a crash near Evanston Sunday afternoon.
Finney was driving a 2007 Dodge Pickup north on Wyoming State Highway 89 at about 3:53 p.m. about two miles north of Evanston. She attempted to pass another vehicle and saw the lane was already occupied by a southbound 1987 Dodge W250 pickup driven by 18-year-old Evanston resident Adam Mueske. Finney attempter to reenter the northbound lane but overcorrected, sending the truck into a spin.
Mueske tried to avoid the crash, but the vehicles collided in a “t-bone” like crash with both vehicles coming to rest in the west ditch.
Finney was not wearing hr seatbelt and remained in the vehicle during the crash.
She was transported by ground ambulance to Evanston Regional Hospital where she died from her injuries.
Mueske and two passengers in the truck with him were transported to the hospital. All three occupants were unrestrained and hospitalized for their injuries, according to WHP.
Speed and weather conditions (falling snow/rain with wet roads) are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash.
