Interstate 80 Update

According to the Wyoming Department of Transportation closures continue for the Interstate 80 corridor in Wyoming due to high winds, blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility.

The drifting snow and ice on the roadways require Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers in the Arlington/Elk Mountain area to assist the remaining motorists.  The Troopers are working in sustained winds of 40-45 mph and gusts up to 60+ mph.

If the winds ramp down this afternoon as forecast, WYDOT hopes to have the roadway reopened by late afternoon.

Before traveling any state highways in winter conditions, motorists are urged to visit www.wyoroad.info to check to status of the roads.
